Not sure how the this works out. Please show computations:. 5(x+2) - (2x-3) =?

Multiply 5 by the first parenthesis, multiply the second paren by -1.

5(x+2) - (2x-3)

becomes

5x+10 -2x + 3Not sure how the this works out. Please show computations:. 5(x+2) - (2x-3) =?
= 5x + 10 - 2x + 3

= 3x + 13Not sure how the this works out. Please show computations:. 5(x+2) - (2x-3) =?
5(x+2) - (2x-3)

1) Remove the brackets first

10x+10-2x+3

2) Group terms

10x-2x + 10+3

3) Compute

8x + 13
5(x+2)-(2x-3)=0

5x+10-2x+3=0

3x+13=0

3x=-13

x=-13/3
