Sorry if my answer is too short for your liking, but I feel that film making requires a very creative mind that can manifest ordered visual thoughts to flow well with the mood of the story and the script. If you read books and are really good with visualizing that happenings of the stories in great detail...maybe you have the potential to become a film maker. You have to be very creative and know what makes people interested. How to choose interesting subjects for movies and how to build stories properly so people don't lose interest.
