A friend of mine let me borrow his car a while back and to save gas i took the toll way but didn't pay tolls, i just went through the ez pass lanes. Well he gave me a call today, said that he got two tickets for it. Said they are due on the 30th. I WILL PAY THE TICKETS FOR HIM, but i do not have the money right now, is there any way that we can work it out so i can maybe get an extension or what will happen if i don't pay them on time?How can i work this ticket problem out?
There are a couple of options for him. The two of you should contact the police dept. and explain the situation. They will most likely grant an extension because of the circumstances or they may rescind the citations and issue you citations instead. On the other hand they may not feel that cooperative.
The other option would be for him to pay the tickets and collect from you later. If I were him I would get a promissory note from you acknowledging the debt and agreeing to pay so that he has his bases covered. If he doesn't pay on time, technically, he needs to go to court to contest the ticket and go from there. The promissory note helps back-up his story with actual evidence for court.How can i work this ticket problem out?
Tell him to call the Police station they will give him an Extension. People do it every day.
